A Page from the Description of a Perfect Heaven...

Sharmilee Palaniswami, our guest, shares her experience at Upasana... The very first thought while entering Upasana was that it is so isolated from what most consider normal (or the absence of commotion and chaos) but how enchanting it was to see a building seated amidst clouds and hills. Being someone who loves the nature and reading, this was a place where I could unwind and lazily read my book in the quiet surrounded by tea hills and clouds. Every morning we would wake up early just to make sure that we could feel the clouds move. The resort felt like it was built on the clouds. It was like a page from the description of the perfect heaven!

Food was the perfect combination of home and nature. There were instances when Vijay uncle would make sure we had all meals and were healthy. He and the other staff (or the bhaiyas as we like to call them) made our stay so comfortable and at home that we just didn’t have the heart to say goodbye.   As a non swimmer, I learnt how to float and wondered if the sky could be ever more beautiful. Looking up, figuring out the shapes of the clouds and relaxing in the pool was something I could have only dreamt of but came true there.   Campfire, music and figuring out the constellations of stars in the night sky had me mesmerised. The sky was a blanket of stars and if one looked closely, they could see how every tiny bit of the sky was packed with twinkling beautiful stars.   Mr. Mohan guided us to all the beautiful and temples we could visit in a day. The day was jam packed with having fun, taking photos and realising how beautiful Mother Nature is and how much we miss when we are in the cities. Brahma temple was one temple that got us wondering about how we have never come across one before. I must say that it was truly a blessing to have been to the temple. No amount of explaining or photos or words can explain the water cascades and the sunset we got to live that day.

On the whole, I would definitely say that the resort is place where anyone from a child to an elderly can and will enjoy. We could see that it is a place that can meet the demands of a fun loving child or an elderly couple who would like to make a trip combining pilgrimage and relaxing, or an adventurous traveller looking forward to trekking and water cascades, or a photographer or a painter and so on.. In short, it is a place for everyone.    Upasana Retreat is truly a tribute to nature. Thank you and the Upasana team who made this a memorable experience.
